Celebrities who really us made us proud with their flood relief efforts

In the aftermath of the ravaging monsoon floods in Pakistan, there are a few celebrities whose determination to help the calamity-struck survivors and provide support to the ailing families has been exemplary. In the wake of disaster which has left millions of people homeless and at the mercy of extremely challenging weather and medical conditions- these celebrities stepped up to help fellow human beings- spreading hope and inspiration, even in these particularly bleak times.

  1. Hadiqa Kiani

Singer-songwriter and philanthropist extended her own campaign ‘Vaseela’, to provide relief in flood-affected areas. In her own words, the drive will aim to “provide food, basic supplies, and medicine to victims.” It will also try to rebuild lost homes and provide medical treatment for children.

Taking to Instagram, Kiani announced that with the help of friends, family, and the Army personnel, she is all set to provide different services to the victims of flood-affected areas and hasn’t stopped ever since!

2. Hira Mani & Husband Salman Sheikh

Actress Hira Mani and husband Mani have both been working with Indus hospital, Karachi in efforts to provide funds for the affected people who need plenty of help in these bad times. She has been doing international fundraising campaigns and events to try and provide support to victims.

Motivating the public towards flood relief efforts in a recent video, the actress said “We have a major responsibility during these times. This is a trail of epic proportions, which could have been sent down on any one of us too. We are the only hope the flood victims have”…The same way all us Pakistani came together at the time of the earthquake and we went above and beyond in helping each other out. We gathered everything we could get our hands on: Blankets, food and utensils. We came together and became one.”

3. Resham

Leading actress Resham visited flood-hit areas in Charsadda district and distributed ration, including milk, dry fruits, chips for children, and clean water. Cooked rice was also distributed to more than 2,000 people.

Actress Resham said that she would continue to help the affected people during the winter, and would bring more food and non-food items for them.
