“Yeh bhi bhool jayein ge, insaf nhi mile ga”: Sabeena Farooq, others prompt swift action in Ghotki sexual assault case

Horrifying news has come from Ghotki, Sindh, where a young girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a group of four men while the family was working in the fields of a local landowner. According to Dawn, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under Section 376(2) of the Pakistan Penal Code with the victim’s father as complainant. The incident took place on May 3, 2026, and the young girl was assaulted in front of her parents, despite the plea for mercy.

In the FIR, the victim and her family have identified three suspects, while one remains unidentified, who the complaints claim was armed. While an investigation is underway, social media has erupted with sentiments and prompts to ensure justice in the gruesome crime. The uproar began when the victim’s family held a press conference after they were unsuccessful in registering an FIR after more than 2 weeks of the incident. Enraged by the incident, Sabeena Farooq outpoured her rage towards such perpetrators. She stated that the crime is severe and traumatic and that justice will not be served as influential people are involved. She added that, as with any other crime, the hype will die down and no action will be taken. She posted to her Instagram story and said:
