Pakistani Javelin throw champion Arshad Nadeem arrives in the World Athletics Championships 2023, qualifying for the final with a stellar performance.

The young athlete topped his group, delivering an impressive 86.79 metres- and secured a place in the final of the World Athletics Championship being held in Budapest, along with securing a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Starting on a slightly shaky note with a throw of 70.63 meters, Arshad Nadeem quickly recalibrated, saving his best for the last as he notched up a throw of 86.79 metres.

The highly anticipated final of the javelin throw will take place on Sunday, August 27, in Hungary, where Arshad Nadeem will compete with Indian Javelin throw star Neeraj Chopra in the 12-man finale. India’s DP Manu and Kishore Jena also qualified for the men’s javelin final, making it the first time in world history that 3 Indians make it to the javelin final.

Last week, Arshad Nadeem expressed his determination to win a gold medal for his country in the mega event. “I am feeling well and, InshAllah, will strive for the desired outcome. If I manage to achieve my personal best throw, a gold medal is within reach, InshaAllah,” he stated. The Pakistani nation braces itself as Nadeem, who clinched a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham, returns to action after a year-long lapse due to an extended injury.

The final competition for javelin throw will be held on Sunday, August 27, and can be streamed live online.
