Atif Aslam to perform live for the first time since the COVID outbreak

Leading Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has been trending on Twitter since the last couple of hours, with Twitter users expressing their desire for him to sing the official anthem for Pakistan for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.

Many enthusiastic fans are also claiming that the upcoming anthem which will be sung by Atif Aslam will also be featuring Babar Azam and some other players of the Pakistani cricket team, although so far there have not been any official reports confirming this news.

Speculation regarding the world cup anthem for Pakistan started soon after it was announced that the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will begin in Oman on 17 October. The teams have now announced their squads for the mega event. The Pakistan squad will include Babar Azam (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Asif Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shoaib Malik.

Initially, the tournament was to be held in Australia from October 18 to November 15, 2020. However, in 2020 the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the tournament had been postponed to 2021, due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
