It poured down heavily in Malir Cantt, areas adjoining the airport, Lines Area, Saddar, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, DHA, Korangi Industrial Area, Garden, Model Colony and Saudabad. Neighbouring areas of the city such as Gharo also experienced rain, according to the meteorological department.
Between 2pm to 3pm, the horizon was covered with dark clouds. This is the first spell of the monsoon rains that has hit Karachi this summer.Due to heavy rain in the city major roads are having a traffic jam and the situation of service lanes is even worse.
People are being advised to avoid all the roads between Shahrah e Faisal to the airport as they are blocked.
