With the year 2020 ending we are all looking back, reminiscing at the year. All the things that came and went by, all the trends, fashions, styles and what not. Lets go through a list of shows and movies that were regarded as “Best” in 2019!
The Crown
The Crown is reportedly the most expensive TV show Netflix has ever made. This sumptuous royal drama charts the rise of Queen Elizabeth II from princess to monarch alongside her husband Prince Philip. Season 3 was released in November 2019 and gained instant popularity among it’s loyal viewers . Hailing an 8.7 / 10 on IMDB, the crown definitely makes it to our list of the best Netflix shows of 2019.

YOU (Season 2)
The much awaited second season of Netflix show YOU finally arrived at the end of the year but did not fail to meet any and all expectations. The show is originally based on a novel by Caroline Kepnes written around delusional obsession. A New York bookstore manager develops a strong toxic obsession for a journalist. The latest season premiered in December 2019 and achieved an IMDB rating of 7.8 out of 10.
Rick and Morty
The fourth season of Rick and Morty aired in November of 2019. The animated show quickly gained loyal viewers ever since it first aired in 2013. The show mainly revolves around the life of the Smith household and takes its viewers on an adventure across an infinite number of realities and travelling to different planets and dimensions through portals. The show is known for its comedic philosophy and for acknowledging the insignificance of human existence.

The Politician
The Politician is a drama series based in Santa Barbara. The show revolves around a boy who runs for student body president at his High School against a much popular athletic kid. The show was nominated for two Golden Globe awards along with an HMMA award for Outstanding Music Supervision.

Peaky Blinders
This British crime drama first aired in 2013 and revolves around the Shelby crime family in the aftermath of the First World War. The story-line includes the Peaky Blinder gang and Tommy Shelby, their boss. The show has earned a total of 15 awards and 33 nominations and made quite an uproar when it’s season 5 came out in August 2019.
Brooklyn Nine Nine (Season 6)
Brooklyn Nine Nine is a comedy based on a group of talented N.Y.P.D detectives headed by their new Captain, Raymond Holt. The show has earned a total of 12 awards, two of which are Golden Globe. If you are looking for a comedy series to get hooked onto, Brooklyn 99 will do the deed, with it’s addictive comedic story-lines and dialogues.
Sacred Games (Season 2)
Sacred Games is an Indian thriller based on a novel written Vikram Chandra. The show revolves around a Mumbai police officer and gangster who lets him know that he has 25 days to save his city (Mumbai). The series takes us on an adventure to whatever follows that event. The show has been nominated for an Asian Academy Creative Award and has won an Indian Television Academy award. The season 2, that aired on 15th August 2019 gained popularity instantly with it’s twists and clever plot lines that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat!
Grace and Frankie
The show revolves around two women: Grace and Frankie who are rivals. Their one-upmanship comes crashing to a halt, however, after a certain event in their marital lives . As everything around the ladies is coming apart, the only thing they can really rely on is each other. Season 5 of this show aired in January 2016. A soap opera of a sort, this show is bound to get you hooked onto it.
Money Heist
Money Heist is a Spanish television heist crime drama series. The series was initially intended as a limited series to be told in two parts. In April 2018, Netflix renewed the series with a significantly increased budget and Part 3, with eight episodes, was released on 19 July 2019. The show instantly caught the attention of people who love a god crime thriller! And if you belong to the lovers of this genre, this is definitely something you do not want to miss out on.
Russian Doll
An Emmy-nominated actress stars in this comedy-drama series as Nadia, a young woman who is on a journey to be the guest of honor at a party in New York City. But she gets caught in a mysterious loop as she repeatedly attends the same event and dies at the end of the night each time, only to awaken the next day unharmed as if nothing had happened. The show uncovers the many sides of a personality as it uncovers a more general truth about perspective.
