PEMRA issues notice to the makers of ‘Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi’
Pemra has issued a notice to the makers of drama serial ‘Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi’ to change their content according to the regulatory body’s guidelines.
The drama is currently being aired on TVOne. It is directed by Kashif Nisar , written by Amna Mufti and is produced by the Kashf Foundation. Kashf Foundation has been making projects to highlight the issues of women in Pakistan by creating dramas like ‘Udaari’, ‘Rehai’ and ‘Akhri Station’.
Dil na umeed toh nahi also highlights the issues of human trafficking, child abuse, child marriages, women trafficking, teenage women used for prostitution or domestic slaveryin in Pakistan and the story revolves around Sumbul (Yumna Zaidi), Zulfi (Omair Rana), Savera (Yasra Rizvi) and Jamshed (Wahaj Ali).
We agree that the drama does have bold dialogues as the story line is based on such issues so it is understandable why the drama might not be a typical family drama for everyone out there in our society.
Pemra has issued a notice to TVOne and has asked them to change the content of the drama within five days according to the guidelines and fans are just not happy with this notice.
