Pakistani writer and director Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar recently came out in support of actor Sadaf Kanwal, in response to the her comments on feminism, marriage and the role of women in Pakistani society.
The Mere Paas Tum Ho writer said ‘All women who are looking for their husband’s socks or are polishing his shoes or ironing his clothes, are doing it out of love, hardly happens that somewhere it is happening by order’….Sadaf Kanwal hasn’t said anything wrong, what she does in her own home is entirely her choice.
The debate erupted after the model appeared in an ARY News interview on ‘Hamare Mehman’, with husband Shehroz Sabzwari, where the conversation got candid and Sadaf Kanwal shared her views regarding what she considers is Pakistani culture and the obligations of women in this society.
