Fashion model Saheefa Jabbar Khattak took social media by storm with her podcast interview with Ahmed Ali Butt where she opened up about suffering from depression, and the toll it took over her health and family relationships. Yesterday, the actress released a statement on her Instagram stories, she expressed her gratitude towards all those who had sent her messages of support after watching it.

Saheefa also revealed she had rejected roles in the last 4 years because of her bad mental health, and was proud of those colleagues who took her place and succeeded.

“To those watching my podcast, with Ahmed bhai, which was recorded in December when I was not in a good place and was very unwell. I want to express my gratitude to everyone showing concern and sending love and positive energy. I am doing better, although there are still gloomy and dark days that I navigate through like a tiny ship stuck in the deep ocean. Despite the challenges, I am content and grateful for the experiences, good or bad, that have shaped me into the person I am today.

For those doubting the projects offered to me, there is no need to lie about them. Over the past 3-4 years, I haven’t discussed these offers publicly, but those in the industry, including my former managers, know they were real. I am proud of my colleagues success in those projects and believe in fate guiding our paths. What is meant for me will come my way, and I harbour no regrets or hard feelings. I wish all my peers continued success and blessings in their future endeavours.”

Saheefa also released a statement on her Instagram account urging for everyone to show love and empathy towards others who could also be suffering from mental illnesses.
