“Apne kaam mein ehtyat aur responsibility ka khayal rakhungi”: Fiza Ali apologizes after PEMRA notice on viral clip

Fiza Ali has issued a formal apology in a Facebook video message after a clip from her morning show on 24 News went viral. In her video, she stated that it was a spontaneous family moment that was taken out of context. She added that she respects the audience and will be more cautious in her work, taking it seriously and responsibly. She posted:

Fiza, who has been notorious for her viral content, came under scrutiny by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), which issued a show-cause notice against the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of 24 News. The agency labeled the moment as inappropriate and unacceptable and demanded a written explanation in a hearing scheduled for April 27, 2026.

Minister of Information, Azma Bukhari, had urged that the case be referred to PEMRA on account of editorial negligence; she called the act immoral. She questioned the presence of Fiza’s daughter during the spectacle. She added that Fiza is used to going to any lengths to gain views and virality. Hina Pervaiz Butt, Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, also criticized the incident, terming it as ‘extremely shameful’. She posted on X:
