Abrar ul Haq said younger singers today singers today have impossible standards compared to veteran artists.

Veteran singer and politician Abrar-Ul-Haq was a guest on the ARY podcast where he opened up about how young singers today hold impossible expectations from show promoters. He said that compared to his time, he did not have such demands from his team like booking a large suit, or travelling business class.

“Even today I’m not that picky about these things. You can ask promoters and they will tell you that I’m nice and easy going and I don’t throw any tantrums.”

The ‘Billo De Ghar’ said he would also book artists for tours through his company , and young artists have outrageous demands like being driven to the location in an SUV with a driver, they will only spend 20 minutes on stage.

“They will travel only in business class, and if they’re being offered a room in Canada then it must be a suit. All of these unnecessary demands can be avoided for the sake of a global cause, but people are not ready for that. And even if we do offer them the hotel, it’s not necessary they will stay there. It was only because they wanted to project their own demands. Instead, they will go and stay at some friend’s house.”

Abrar-ul-Haq went on to reflect on his own career beginning as a musician, reflecting that he did not make such impossible demands from promoters. He called such actions ‘desperation’ for younger artists to flex their power over someone.

“Why should I waste someone’s money by demanding them to get me a suit? When I can easily survive in a simple room. If me and my brother are travelling together then we get a room. They can never do this.”

It looks like Abrar ul Haq is not the only one who thinks that younger celebrities are not as easy going compared to veterans. In November, Laila Zuberi went viral when she revealed on the talk show ‘Hasna Mana Hai’ that younger female actors were divas compared to senior actors, because they would throw fits on set and demand things to go according to their schedule.
