The Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) have rescued an Indian offshore vessel in the Arabian Sea in a humanitarian effort, Dawn News reported. On Monday, May 4 2026, the Maritime Rescue and Coordination Center in Mumbai, India, reached out to Pakistani authorities for assistance. The immediate rescue operation resulted in the safe return of the whole crew: 6 Indian and 1 Indonesian national. The Indian vessel was a cargo tug and supply carrier.

Reporting the incident, Pakistan’s national television posted:

A technical fault was reported on the MV Gauta, which was en route from Oman to India, the PMSA has confirmed. Further details revealed that the Pakistan Navy had deployed the PMSA ship, PNS Kashmir, for the rescue operation. The Pakistan Navy has confirmed that the support operation for the Indian vessel is ongoing, while emergency assistance, including food, medical aid, and technical support, has already been provided. The Pakistan Navy has
