In an interview with Samaa TV, Amena Khan has put light to the ongoing content on television criticising the excessive family drama on the screens. She stated that the plot revolves around marriages and divorces with thousands of unnecessary slaps shown in drama serials currently. Recalling her experience working with Haseena Moin in her last years, she said that;
“Haseena Moin started hating television. Imagine a person who had created a new era in television and given it a transformation started despising it due to such content.”

She further added that highlighting social issues is important, yet, the drama serials right now are unable to find a responsible ways to do it. Life elevates art and art elevates life is what she said when she claimed that a transformation can be made through art. The drama serials are a tool through which the mindset of the audience can be shaped. It is an opportunity that is missed because the urge to create sensationalism leads to triggering and escalating these social evils further. While these sensational projects gain viewership, the quality of work is lost in the process. She questioned where the craft is when the meduim cannot be used affectively and responsibly.
