According to Arab News, the woman had registered a complaint with the Naushahro Feroze police station last week, revealing her family members were threatening her with violence for her decision to seek a divorce.

After making an appearance at a local court, the woman shifted to a shelter home, but then chose to move back at her mother’s home after a few days.

The police spokesperson said in a statement the woman was attacked by her father Ghulam Mustafa and her uncle who attacked her with an axe, leaving her with damaged legs.

Authorities said a case has been registered against the perpetrators and raids are being conducted in different parts of the Naushahro Feroze district to arrest them.
