A horrifying rape case has been reported in Sahiwal after the Ghalal Mandi police booked three men and a woman after a woman reported that she was raped, and then threatened with her private videos and pictures being leaked on social media if she were to take the case to the police.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed, the woman ‘P’ had befriended the abuser ‘A’ on her phone in February 2023, and the two had become physically intimate after he had promised to marry her. The compliant revealed that during their relationship, ‘A’ had raped her and recorded the crime on his phone.
Further on according to Dawn, the compliant said she began pressuring ‘A’ to marry her, and he sent a woman ‘C’ and another man to her house for the marriage proposal which her family had accepted.
Later on, ‘A’ urged the compliant to visit him in Lahore under the guise of wedding shopping, where he and the woman ‘L’ took her to a house in Johar Town, where she was shut away for two days and raped multiple times by the suspect, while a man kept guard outside the house.
After wards, the FIR reveals the survivor was threatened with her photos and videos being leaked on social media if she filed a case with the police. The compliant said she lost Rs 30,000 cash and gold jewellery that amounted up to Rs 375,000. The abuser had dropped her by her house after the crime.
The FIR showed that the survivor was repeatedly blackmailed by the abuser for more money.
A case of child sexual abuse had emerged in Karachi on February 24, where a man was jailed for ten years in prison and fined Rs 1 lac after he was declared guilty of raping his nephew and threatening him with violence if he were to report the matter to the police.
