In an interview with Fuchsia Magazine, Ahsan Khan opened up about his choice to play Sherdil in Zanjeerain. Although his role is small and he has a special appearance, he stated that he found the opportunity to shine despite the smaller margin he had. He said he had been reluctant to sign the project initially; however, after a conversation with the director, Shehzad Kashmiri, he came to understand the impact of Sherdil’s role in the drama serial.

Elaborating on his reluctance, Ahsan added that he had signed on to a project as the main lead with a spectacular cast, and he did not know whether he could make an impact in his role. He said that, in reading the scenes, he did not feel powerful, yet, with the director’s collaboration, they were shot differently. He also stated that he did not expect the positive response, as the drama actually belongs to the main cast, who remain part of the drama serial throughout. However, his character has resonated with the audience, and he is grateful to see how invested they are in Sherdil’s limited arc.

Ahsan has played the feudal tribe’s chief in Zanjeerain, whose grandeur and charisma have captivated the viewers. His recent exit from the drama serial has also left the audience in tears as they invest themselves in the developing plotline. Ahsan is a well-known British Pakistani actor and television host, known for his groundbreaking performances and for rising to fame through Udaari. He is also known for his drama serials: Fraud, Dastaan, Alif, Aangan, and Mere Humnasheen. He is also known for his philanthropic work as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Child Life Foundation.
