Shahid Afridi revealed he did an extensive background check on Shaheen before wedding him to his daughter, Ansha
Former cricket star Shahid Afridi was a speaker at the ‘Main Hoon Karachi’ session at the International Urdu Conference, where he revealed that he had done a proper background check on the Pakistani pacer Shaheen Afridi before his marriage to Afridi’s daughter.
According to Aaj News, ‘Boom Boom’ Afridi revealed he wasn’t ready to marry off his daughter to someone without completely checking in to the man she was being wedded off to.
“No father hands over his daughter’s life to someone without careful thought. Shaheen’s upbringing was commendable, and although our families lost touch after we shifted to Karachi, Shaheen’s coaches always spoke highly of him.”
Afridi spoke about the importance of ensuring that there is compatibility between two people before they choose to marry, and that both partners would share the responsibility in building a family.
Shaheen Afridi and Ansha revealed back in October a small glimpse of their son. Shaheen shared a picture on his Instagram account with the caption “At peace.”

Shahid Afridi celebrated the news by sharing a Facebook post where he thanked fans and loved ones on becoming the “youngest grandfather” in Pakistani cricket history.
“Received lovely messages from my friends on becoming the youngest grandfather. My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for joining us in our celebrations.”
Shaheen and Ansha tied the knot back in February 2023 during a daytime nikkah ceremony which was attended by cricket stars and celebrities alike. Shaheen shared a picture of the couple on his Instagram account with a heartfelt caption about his daughter.
“Daughter is the most beautiful flower of your garden because they blossom with great blessing. A daughter is someone you laugh with, dream with, and love with all your heart. As parent, I gave my daughter in Nikkah to Shaheen Afridi, congratulations to the two of them.”
