Horrifying case from Punjab, boy murders mother for refusing to accept love marriage proposal

A gruesome case has emerged from the city of Arifwala from the Punjab province. A man Jahangir was arrested by authorities after he murdered his mother by hitting her with rods and bricks.

The man was enraged after the mother refused to accept the girl he wanted to marry, as per 24news.

The police reached to the scene of the crime immediately and arrested the murderer. Speaking to reporters, the DPO said a case has been registered and the investigation has already started.

Follows the rise of rape and murder cases in Punjab

This follows the recent rise of  horrific crime and murder cases in Punjab. On October 2, the police arrested a father and grandfather in Jaranwala after they raped the daughter. The 18 year old survivor was living with the accused after the death of her mother. During the time she was severely beaten and even her fingernails were pulled off, according to Aaj News.

Similarly on 1 October, a 10th class girl was gang-raped by a policeman and his friend in Sargodha, after she visited the Kot Momin police station in an attempt to release her father from illegal imprisonment. According to Dawn news, the First Information Report (FIR) revealed the father was arrested on false charges. A man who claimed to be a friend of the father asked the daughter to visit the police station to prove the father’s innocence for his release.

The survivor said she reached the police station when she was kidnapped by the ASI and his friend at gun-point. They took her to Nazimabad where she was gang-raped. After her condition got worse, they dumped her body at her aunt’s house and ran away.

The gruesome cases are only from the last few days in Punjab, as every year we have witnessed how the law and order situation in Pakistan only seems to get worse. We only demand that those in charge put more effort in fixing the laws that would stop rape and murder cases that are killing women everyday, rather than spending most of their time being outraged when women take to the streets to protest.
