Tomorrow ( 20th Feb ) marks the beginning of the much anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL 2020) which will be the fifth season of the PSL, a franchise Twenty 20 cricket league which was established by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in 2015. For the first time in the history of PSL the opening ceremony and the match fixtures will be entirely hosted with in Pakistan.
PCB Director – Babar Hamid, said: “It is only befitting that a grand and glamorous opening ceremony is held to welcome Pakistan’s very own HBL PSL in the country. We have brought together all the top artists in the country to set the tone of what will be an epic tournament.”
PM Imran Khan on the other hand has granted the Foreign players and other officials including Match officials, security consultants, and journalists coming to Pakistan for the fifth edition of PSL the status of ‘state guest’.

The inauguration of the PSL’s season 5 will commence in the metropolitan wonder, Karachi with full force and enthusiasm. The opening ceremony will feature performances from music giants and performers including world renowned artists like Abrar-ul-Haq, Aima Baig, Abu Mohammad, Fareed Ayaz, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sajjad Ali, Sanam Marvi and the rock band Soch. Moreover music aficionados including Ali Azmat, Arif Lohar, Haroon and Asim Azhar will perform the power driven and energetic PSL’s anthem “Tayyar Hain” followed by riveting acts and a spectacular fireworks show.
In a Private briefing with Niche Lifestyle “Babar Hamid” stated that this would be the first time that an elaborate cast of around 350 members will perform on the ground. The performances would incorporate advanced technological features including AR , Augmented and laser tech for projections and mapping.
The ceremony, which will be approximately an hour long, will kick-off at 6.45pm . The toss for the first match will be held at 8.30pm, while the much-anticipated first ball of the HBL PSL 2020 will be delivered at 9pm.

Meticulous equipment like the spider cam has been installed at the national Stadium , karachi in order to enable a two way communication between the commentator and the players as well.
