Mohib Mirza was a guest on the BBC Urdu series where he talked about playing a toxic main lead Hassan in the drama ‘Jafaa’ opposite Mawra Hocane. Speaking to the platform, Mirza said he hoped people who were watching the drama picked up on the importance of going to therapy in order to cure mental illnesses.

“We made this drama so people would understand how important it is to visit a therapist or a psychologist in order to understand what kind of mental illness they have,” responded the ”Neeli Zinda Hai” actor. “Right now, every person watching the drama have the same reaction that this person has an issue and he needs therapy.”

Speaking on the pressure the female character in the drama is playing, Mohib said it’s important that people recognise how toxic marriages can destroy them, and how necessary it is to leave them.

“A friend told me once that once you’re married, you’re settled into it for life. I think you should maintain your vows but not under so much unnecessary pressure, especially when you’re being hurt. We’re not promoting divorces. but if you’re in a toxic marriage, there is no hope down the road other than more stress and heartbreak. It’s also scientifically proven that you begin developing diseases in your body from suffering so much stress in toxic situations.”
