The 2021 Pakistan Super League is back with season 6 reviving cricket fever again! Year 2020 was a challenging year for everyone and many of such events including PSL were postponed which brought a lot of disappointment. With new year, there are new and positive hopes that we all look forward to!
PSL 2021 schedule has been announced which has brought a wave of excitement in the country. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) the opening ceremony will take place on the 20th of February in Karachi followed by the opening match between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United.
17 matches will be played in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, 9 matches in Karachi’s National Stadium, 5 matches in Rawalpindi’s Cricket Stadium and 3 matches in Multan’s Cricket Stadium. The final match will be played in Lahore Gaddafi Stadium.
The most awaited is the PSL anthem and Ali Zafar is always in the spot light as fans love his anthems for PSL. 2020’s PSL anthem “Tayar Hein” left fans disappointed and fans were eagerly waiting for 2021’s anthem.
The much awaited PSL 2021 anthem titled “Groove Mera” has been released featuring Aima Baig, Naseebo Lal and Young Stunners. With the release of the song, it brought with a meme galore on Twitter. Netizens called it a ‘mediocre’ version as it didn’t quite encapsulate the spirit of the cricket in Pakistan.
