Lahore: Woman arrested for acid attack on man after he married someone else

Police in Lahore’s Kahna area have arrested a woman for allegedly throwing acid on a man after he chose to marry someone else, Express News reported. Acting on the instructions of SP Model Town Sherbano Naqvi, a special police team was formed to ensure the swift arrest of the suspect. Using modern location-tracking technology, the team successfully traced and detained the woman from Ghulam Hussain Colony in Kahna.

According to police officials, the suspect and the victim were previously involved in a romantic relationship. The victim, identified as 30-year-old Sufiyan, recently married another woman, a decision that reportedly led to tensions between the two. Investigators stated that the suspect, identified as Rubina Bibi, allegedly lured Sufiyan to her residence under a pretext before carrying out the attack.

During the incident, she is accused of throwing acid on him, causing burns to parts of his body and damaging his clothes. Fortunately, the injuries were not reported as life-threatening, though authorities have not disclosed further medical details.

A case has been registered against the suspect, and further investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
