Lahore protests to express solidarity with Palestinians

Hundreds of Lahoris came out in protest earlier today to express solidarity with their Palestinian brothers and sisters.

The Lahore protest was held at Liberty Chowk around 4.30 pm. Protesters arrived at the scene with posters, placards and slogans all with the intent to show that they stand with Palestinians.

The placards at the protest bore slogans such as “A Palestinian child once said ‘We pray six times a day’. Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and Janazah.”

Others also made a reference to the famous Palestinian & Dutch model Bella Hadid, saying “You learn about what she eats, what she wears, where she goes, now learn about what she’s protesting for!.”

While some said “Speak the truth, even when your voice is shaking”.

Protesters also made sure to follow Covid-19 SOPs in wake of the current situation in the country. Guidelines were preset saying anyone who enters the protest without a mask will be asked to leave.

Social media is also filled with news of the Palestinian conflict, with the #FreePalestine hashtag trending on Twitter.
