Controversial screenwriter Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was at a podcast to discuss his recent kidnapping and robbery. During the interview, KRQ said he had initially hesitated before filing an FIR, because the robbers had mentioned the names of Pakistani actors Nauman Ijaz and Saba Qamar.

“I don’t like Nauman Ijaz but I am still on friendly terms with him. He’s a big actor and I respect him, and I am also a fan of Saba Qamar’s acting skills. They are not this type of people,” concluding that the kidnappers must have tried to manipulate his mind.

Khalil-ur-Rehman revealed that after this incident his family was traumatized, and his wife was urging him to leave the country for the safety of their family. But the writer said his love for his country was the reason why he refused to do so.

The ‘Pyaray Afzal’ writer was kidnapped and looted in Lahore earlier this week after falling for a honey trap scheme. In a press conference that began trending on the internet, the ‘Meray Pass Tum Ho’ writer raised eyebrows when he said his doctor had banned him from going out during day time which is why he chose to visit the woman at 4:40 am.

“I am sick and my doctor has strictly told me to not go out in the daytime for five years. Even if he hadn’t said that, we meet people at night and you don’t differentiate between men and women. When there’s no objection to me meeting men at night, then why should there be an objection to me agreeing to see this woman at the break of dawn?” said Khalil during the press conference.
