I wanted my first production on a Pakistani platform- Mahira
Mahira Khan is a big name of our industry and has some of the hit dramas and movies on her credit not only from Pakistan but from across the border as well. The beautiful actress started her career as a Vj and later on rose to fame from her popular drama serial ‘Humsafar’ on Hum Tv.
She has also worked in a few Pakistani movies and have been a favorite actress of both the big and the silver screen. She has also made Pakistan proud by representing our country on international platforms and events.
Recently she announced that she is all set to launch her production house ‘Soulfry Films’ and soon after she has released the poster of her upcoming web series ‘Baarwan Khiladi’. She wrote, “A coming of age story set against the backdrop of the OG of all games- Cricket. A story about friendships, relationships, unity, failure, success, love and courage. A small peak into labour of love and hard work..from all of us to you.”
In an interview with Gulf News, when Mahira was asked that why did not she choose ZEE5, Netflix or Amazon Prime, Mahira questioned, “Why not Tapmad?” She said that she always wanted a Pakistani platform for her first production and she feels that we need to empower our local OTT platforms. She further said, “Hopefully, this will start a trend of local content being made for local online platforms.”
