Mehwish Hayat recently gave an interview at a podcast where the actress revealed she had rejected multiple film offers to work in Bollywood.
Speaking about her decision, the ‘Punjab Nahi Jaongi’ actress said she wanted to focus on reviving the Pakistani Lollywood scene, and enjoyed working in the country rather than seek fame in Bollywood.
“I have been blessed to be a part of the revival of the Pakistani cinema began. I worked with Nabeel, Nadeem and the way people loved those films and have shown love to me, I don’t think I need to go somewhere else to show my talent when I am appreciated in my own country.”
“So I would rather be in my own home ground and play it well,” continued Mehwish.
