Pakistani women and allies have been celebrating the day with ‘Aurat March‘ since the past six years. This year in an appalling turn of events the the Aurat March NOC has been denied.
The official Aurat march twitter page reported: The denial of NOC cites the ‘Haya March’ by the JI as the reason for denial. The DC herself acknowledges that the Jamaat has “announced a program against the Aurat March”, yet it is the March that is being denied its constitutional right, not the group inciting violence.
Furthermore, they are being denied permission to gather at their chosen route (Nasir Bagh) and to foreclose all previous venues of the March such as Press Club, Alhamra, and Mall Road.

Actress and author Mira Sethi strongly condemned this measure, she took to Twitter to highlight how shameful the act is and that the women will walk regardless.
Shameful that Aurat March Lahore was not given an NOC by the government.
The women of Lahore will March regardless. @MohsinnaqviC42 Let better sense prevail—give the NOC to Aurat March and show that you are a progressive Chief Minister.
