While in a  conversation with Waseem Badaami on his show 11th Hour, Special assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab Firdous Aashiq Awan remarked that Sindhis are Jahil and lack political consciousness. For context she made these remarks for Sindhis electing Pakistan People’s Party repeatedly.

Twitter is furious over her remarks and is schooling her.

One user said “This characterization of Sindhi’s tantamounts to ethnic bigotry and really show her socio-political understanding. It’s an insult to the Sindhis and they must demand an apology from her.”

Another one said “I as resident of Sindh strongly condemn this racist & narrow minded, unethical speech of Ms. Firdous Ashiq Awan. Electing PPP-P by power of vote in Sindh is bcs of the merit & governance of the party. Sindhis have always took active & historic role in politics even before 1947.”

Mumtaz Ali Chandio from PPP took to Twitter to express his concern over her remarks “Firdous Ashiq Awan’s racist remarks towards Sindh and Sindhi people are strongly condemned. Such people are to blame for the fuelling ethnic divisions. We demand that she retracts her statement and apologize for such insensitive comments.”
Twitter demands an apology from her for making such insensitive remarks and giving heat to ethnic rivalry.
