Fans were over-joyed with the news that the opening ceremony will be held in the National Stadium Karachi with over 300 artists performing. Karachi was lit and a sight to see with all the decorations to welcome the players.

With the excitement level very high, the PSL5 opening ceremony was celebrated last night at the National stadium Karachi with a pack stadium.

The ceremony started with the national anthem and then opened up by a speech by Ahmed Godil in a style that seemed more of a mimicry of Prime Minister Imran Khan. This is still unclear that whether it was done on purpose or was that his original style.

The musical part began with an orchestra  including dhol and trumpets playing the tune of the national anthem of PSL, Tayyar Hein!

The first and by far the best performance was a sufi piece featuring Sanam Marvi and famous qawal duo Fareed Ayaz and Abu Mohammad.

Abrar-ul-Haq mesmerized the audience with his popular bhangra songs bringing life to the stadium. Then came up Sajjad Ali who sang two of his popular songs which were equally enjoyed by the audience.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan gave a powerful performance leaving the audience spell-bound!!

The oath taking ceremony was an introduction of the franchise owners with their team captains and children from the Deaf Reach School on stage.

The stage was set on fire as a final act by Ali azmat, Haroon Rashid, Arif Lohar and Asim Azhar who sang the PSL season 5 official anthem followed by some eye-catching fire-works!

People are just not happy with the way Ahmed Godil hosted the ceremony and are equally disappointed how Aima Baig copied Ariana’s signature style making it an epic fail.
