A man in Faisalabad is being pursued by the police after he set his wife on fire and killed her. According to Nawai Waqt, the culprit Amir was having a domestic dispute with his wife Saira Bibi after which he doused her with petrol and set her on fire. The Rescue 1122 team had reached the house and taken the woman to the hospital, where she had succumbed to her injuries.
The police have registered a case against the husband, who has fled the scene after committing the crime.
Previously in March, a man in Karachi set his wife on fire after she caught him having an affair. According to Dawn, the husband was spending long nights outside the house which raised the wife’s suspicion that he was interested in other women. When she tried investigating by calling him one night, another woman answered the phone which confirmed her suspicion. The husband came back home and beat up his wife severely, and then set her on fire.
