The acclaimed Korean pop band BTS has caught outrage on the internet after Taehyung (or V) posted some old pictures on his Instagram account, which included the Mcdonalds fries packet.

This move has raised a lot of questions regarding BTS’s priorities at a time when Israel is inflicting a genocide in Gaza. The BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanctions) movement has listed Mcdonalds’ among the companies it has urged civilians to boycott, sharing that the fast food franchise is providing free meals to all Israeli soldiers participating in the ongoing genocide.

BTS army has consistently used social media to urge the ‘Not Today’ singers and other Kpop bands to express their support for Palestine, and to withdraw from supporting controversial Zionist figures. Fan pages have targeted Hybe, the entertainment company that manages BTS, for hiring the controversial Zionist Scooter Braun as the CEO.

After Taehyung’s recent post, BTS stans have expressed their dissapointment in the pop star’s neutrality during a precarious time. Many have even shared a video by a Gazan journalist who showed pictures of BTS band members that were recovered from the rubble of a home.
