Sang e Mah, one of the most anticipated shows of the year kicked off last week with the first episode being aired in cinemas. With a well versed director on board, coupled with veteran actors like Sania Saeed and Nauman Ijaz and a stellar debut by Atif Aslam, many believed it to be a hit before it even aired.
Atif’s character Hilmand plays the main lead in the drama serial. Hilmand is the son of Mir Mirjaan Khan played by Nauman Ijaaz and Zarsanga played by Samiya Mumtaz. Unlike his other son, Atif is the rebellious one who doesn’t shy away from going against his father. His character is dark, witty yet makes you side with him.
While talking to The Express Tribune, Atif said “For the first three, four days, I was trying to wrap my head around how to play this character,” he further shed light on how he rehearsed for the role “There were no mobile signals in the area where we were shooting, so we literally had nothing else to do. It was a blessing in disguise.”
After the second episode aired on Sunday night, twitter flooded with many fans appreciating the singer turned actor’s portrayal of his character Hilmand.
