It is no secret that Pakistani Superstar Humayun Saeed has been cast in the latest season of The Crown. The Meray Paas Tum Hou star will be playing the role of Lady Diana’s lover Doctor Hasnat. Earlier this month, the first look of Humayun in the show was also disclosed.
Elizabeth Debicki who plays the role of Lady Diana in the series has appreciated Humayun’s efforts as well. She told Entertainment Weekly “I absolutely adored Humayun — he was such a lovely actor, and such a beautiful person.”

While talking to Dawn, Saeed highlighted how unlike Pakistan he had to audition for this role in The Crown. He also mentioned how he did a reading with Elizbeth Debicki as well and at one point thought that the role had been given to someone else. However, everything turned in his favor. Eventually, he had to do workshops with a real surgeon to get into character he added.

The London Nahi Jaunga actor also commented on his relationship with his co actors especially Elizbeth, “Most of my scenes are with Elizabeth Debicki and her commitment to her work is just amazing. She is an actress with a considerable number of impressive roles to her credit and yet, here she was, working hard, trying to do her best.”

While answering the question of how is this role going to affect his career, Humayun added ““I can’t tell if there will be an impact… I feel I am representing my entire industry and every Pakistani actor who has worked internationally has contributed towards other actors getting similar opportunities.”

Humayun also praised screenwriter Peter Morgan, “I feel Peter Morgan has done an amazing job in handling every character’s portrayal sensitively. This is the show’s biggest highlight.”

We hope Humayun’s entry into the OTT world opens up new avenues for not just him but Pakistani creatives across the nation.
We are super pumped up for his performance in The Crown and are counting days till the release of the latest season.
