Adnan Siddiqui bags Best Actor award for ‘Jamun Ka Darakht’ at the South Asian Film International Festival Florida

Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui shared some exciting news on his X account, announcing that he had won the Best Actor Award at the prestigious  South Asian Film International Festival Florida. The actor wrote:

“Winning the Best Actor award at the South Asian Film International Festival Florida (SAIFF) for my movie Jamun Ka Darakht is an immense honour. Huge congrats to the team for also securing Best Short Film. Grateful to everyone involved!”

 


Jamun Ka Darakht created waves when it won the coveted ‘Best Social Justice Short Film’ award at the Cannes Film Festival in February. The director Rafa Rashidi took to his Instagram account to share the exciting news, sending his congratulations to the cast and crew who helped put the film together.

Written by Bee Gul and directed by Rafay Rashdi, the short film delves into the lives of two women and the struggles of surviving in the fashion industry. Along with Siddiqui, the short film also stars Maha Tahirani and Fouzia Aman.
