A few weeks ago, social media had criticized the Lahore High Court for acquitting Qandeel Baloch’s murderer, Waseem Khan, who had previously received a life sentence when he admitted to drugging and killing his sister. Many women in Pakistan had regarded this as a critical failure of the government to ensure that women rights were protected under the anti-honor killing bill.
Now twitter users are lauding Osman Khalid Butt for taking such a brave move to challenge the verdict announced in the Qandeel Baloch case, and remarked him as the male ally women in Pakistan currently need
So so so proud of @aClockworkObi!
Women may actually have an ally in this country after all. https://t.co/y3qi7wl5HQ— mirza (@_a_mirza) February 28, 2022

We laude your bravery and dedication to protecting women’s rights in Pakistan, Osman. And we pray that this helps in bringing justice to not just Qandeel Baloch, but many other women in this country who have lost their lives to honor killing.
