The collection was presented as a tribute to Cancer patients and survivors at the Cancer Patient Aid Association Fashion show. Being one of the most awaited shows on the fashion calendar, the duo who never fails to impress presented a collection, rich in colors, textures and breathtaking embroideries.
Exquisite fabrics, indigenous to Indian culture and traditions were used lavishly to build up on a collection that was breathtakingly spectacular.
Mukaish Bindhi adorned Ghararas, Bhandani Tie and Dye Lehngas, Jamdanis and Delicate khaaddi sourced from Assam to intricate techniques of Chikinkari ,Zardozi and Gota set a mood so compelling that the buyers were surely convinced of who to dress and what pieces to dress them into.
But before the audience had time to appreciate such polished and enthralling clothes, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla changed course, moving into a series of beautiful white looks.
The excitement went sky rocketing when Sonam Kapoor grasped everyone’s attention with a beautiful dance performance on stage, ornamented in an off-white chikan anarkali paired with Ijaar pants and hand embroidered pastel resham and zardozi bounded dupatta. Accessorized with peacock chandibali earrings by the house’s jewelry line Saboo, it was sure that the duo’s attention to detail was impeccable.
The show concluded with Sweta Bachcha Nanda in a dreamy ensemble and karan Johar in a hand embroidered open coat alongside Sonam and the duo on center stage.
Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Badhuri Bachchan were also spotted in the front row rooting for their gorgeous daughter.
“Killing it” and “Savage” as appeared in the form of sequin patches on the back of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla’s ensemble clearly summed up how the audience felt about the collection.
