As viewers build a deep connection with Beena (Urwa Hocane), Aap Ki Izzat is off to a good start with Tabish (Ahsan Khan) finding his mother’s (Sania Saeed) support. Silenced by the fact that he is her only son, she backs his decision to marry Naz (Alina Khan). Caught in a whirlwind of emotions, Beena is torn between her children, mother-in-law, obligations towards the family, and a husband who once loved her dearly.

Where Tabish has already received backlash for his disloyalty towards Beena, his double standards as a politician have brought further reactions from the audience. His hypocritical character reveals itself as he wishes to hide his marriage to Naz from the public as he contests for election and claims to be a warrior of women’s rights as he mistreats Beena at home. He has created a facade around himself with his money and reputation. At the same time, his personality is a mirror of the deep-rooted misogyny where women are replaceable according to his needs.

While he claims to understand women’s issues because women surround him and he has been fulfilling his responsibilities towards them, he is confronted by his wife about his decision to marry his secretary. Upon which, Beena is met with humiliation; called ungrateful and blamed for his decision to marry for the second time. She is told that nagging wives push men to marry a second time.
