In Rawalpindi, a 7-year-old boy who fell into a sewage drain remains missing as rescue operations continue for a third consecutive day, ARY News reported. So far, the teams have recovered only a single shoe belonging to the child, Wisaal. The boy fell into an open sewage line near Kacha Stop on I.J.P Road in Rawalpindi; an uninterrupted search for the lost boy has been ongoing for the third day.
Regarding the search operation, the rescue teams have stated that its scope has been expanded. The rescue team has so far searched an 8-kilometer stretch of the sewage line. Six critical points along the route have been designated for meticulous inspection; however, the child remains missing. In the latest update, the search has expanded to Nullah Lai as the sewage line flows towards it.
The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has issued strict directives to the Rawalpindi administration and rescue officials, ordering the use of all possible scientific and conventional methods to locate the child. She has emphasized that the operation must continue indefinitely until Wisaal is found, ensuring that a lack of resources will not impede the search.
