
In the latest development in the gang rape and murder of a first-year student in Jhang, the prime suspect has been arrested in Lahore, Samaa News reported. In a CCTV footage from a hospital in Jhang, a group of men brought in a young girl in a semi-unconscious state and left her there in critical condition; the men fled. The police identified the suspects using the footage and made a swift arrest. The girl then succumbed to her wounds, and the missing person’s case turned into murder and gang-rape.
The main suspect in the alleged abduction and assault of a first-year student in Jhang has been arrested from Lahore.
CCTV footage also shows the victim being left at a hospital before the suspect fled.

The girl was abducted on June 4, 2026, after she left home to collect her roll number slip and never returned. A first information report (FIR) was launched in the Satellite Police Station after the victim’s father reported her missing. A day after she went missing, the family received a call stating that their daughter was in a private hospital. The staff quickly moved her to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, where she remained under treatment till her death on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
The victim’s father has requested the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Shareef, to ensure justice to the family. The police await the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death and continue the investigation. They stated that they will ensure the culprits are swiftly arrested and face consequences.
