During an interview on Mohsin Abbas Haider’s Public Demand, Abrar ul Haq was questioned about the new names in politics, Iqrar ul Hassan and Jawad Ahmad. The questions and commentary were directed at Iqrar’s personal life, to which Abrar responded that Iqrar has scope for success, having successfully managed three wives.

Commenting further, Abrar stated that being married and managing it is a skill; wife management should be a course at universities, as it is a science. While joking about it, he added that keeping a wife happy should be studied, dissected, and disseminated. He added that while the world says there is a woman behind a man’s success, Iqrar has three women behind him, hence he might have a wider scope.

He also added that Iqrar is a new face in politics and that one must encourage new people to enter it. He said that it is their right to express themselves and gain the support of the public. He lashed out at the criticism of his political debut and stated that every man has the right to form a political party; it is up to the public to accept or reject it. He added that political discourse is essential and is only possible if we have as many perspectives to choose from.

Abrar ul Haq is a singer-turned-politician, philanthropist known for his Punjabi classic hits Billo De Ghar, Nach Punjaban, Boohey Barian, and Kurian Lahore Diyan. He is hailed as the king of Pakistani pop and Bhangra and is currently seen for his political commentary. He has served as a member of the National Assembly and as Chairman of the Youth Parliament of Pakistan. He is also known for founding the Sahara Trust, a charitable organisation that provides healthcare and medical education.
