
After allegations of harassment, actor Arsalan Butt has issued a legal notice to Mamya Shahjaffer for her statement during an interview. Taking to Instagram, he has posted that a defamation case will be filed if the statement is not retracted within fourteen days. The notice stated that the allegations are false, baseless and malicious and have affected Arsalan’s reputation, professional and personal life. He posted:
The scandal broke out when, in an interview with Iffat Omar, Mamya Jaffer stated that she had been harassed by actor Arsalan Khan on set, who believed she was fresh and easy to mingle with. Despite her unconventional avatar, she was uncomfortable and shut down any advances, she alleged. She elaborated on an incident from the sets of Meesni, where Arsalan allegedly used abusive language and broke into a physical altercation with her. She added that she will not shy away from naming and shaming that person, which has now led to a legal battle between the two.
Arsalan Butt is currently the lead in the drama serial Hadd. He started off his career in the entertainment industry as a fashion model and moved towards acting with projects such as Meesni and Chupke Chupke. He rose to fame for his cross-border collaboration with Turkey in the drama serial, Sara Sajeeda. Mamya Shahjaffer, on the other hand, is currently promoting her film, Luv Di Saun. She is known for her versatile characters in Jhok Sarkar, College Gate, Meesni, Jaan Se Pyara Juni and Crossroads. Her film debut, Lali, was internationally acclaimed and was screened at the Berlin Film Festival.
