With misfortune looming over the Khan family, Zanjeerian breaks down the characters’ arcs to understand their traumas and actions. Torsam (Usman Javed), the stepson who was never respected, has become a hateful character, and his brother, Sherdil (Ahsan Khan), blames him for the attack on his lands. The plea for a piece of land turns into a physical altercation, peeling another layer of the Khan family dynamics.

Torsam is born to the woman who was traded for the murder of Sohraab’s (Raza Ali Abid) father; the woman who was also Zafran Khan’s (Adnan Siddique) sister, given away to put an end to a years-long rivalry. With Sohraab’s desire to avenge his father’s death and Torsam’s will to seek his rights, Sherdil’s business and family hang by a thread.

Overshadowed by his past, Torsam remains an outcast, while Sohraab’s suspicious looks indicate a new deception. His mother’s position in the family and Bibi Jaan’s (Sammiya Mumtaz) inability to accept him further push him away. His demand for land from the family only deepens his hatred. Motivated by his rage, Torsam is unable to tap into his potential or show loyalty to the family.

Torsam’s history and character have left the audience intrigued as he moves toward a falling-out with the Khan siblings. Along with Sarbuland’s (Danyal Zafar) respect and Bibi Jaan’s effort to hold the fort, the Zanjeerain viewers have also connected to Torsam’s arc. They have developed a soft corner for the perceived villain. Calling him the most interesting character of the drama serial, a user posted:
