As Zeba(Sanam Saeed) falls for blackmail and retrieves divorce papers, Subok(Ashir Wajahat) strikes another deal with his father to protect her. Jami (Emmad Irfani) attends her daughter’s wedding only if Zeba returns; Subok steps forward and orders his father to sign the divorce papers and free his mother from the pain. He says that he is ready to pay Jami’s bills if he frees his mother from the constant torment.
Subok decides to become his mother’s shield against society’s pressure and Jami’s manipulation, and takes the title of ‘shameless’ for asking for a divorce. He ensures that her mother has a chance to live her life on her own terms, as she could not win her husband’s love and respect. He ensures that the agony is done with, despite the added financial pressure on him.
The confrontational scene between the father and son deepens Subok’s understanding that Zeba’s freedom is proportional to Jami’s expenses and takes up the additional responsibility, so his family can take a sigh of relief. Subok’s responsible and selfless act guarantees a better future for his mother and sisters.
Meanwhile, he also reflects that Zeba’s giving in to Jami’s blackmail is not a sacrifice for Javeria (Noorey Zeeshan) but a loss at the hands of societal expectations. None of her children expect her to return to the demanding life, as doing so would also mean sacrificing her unmarried children.
Subok becoming the knight in shining armor for his mother was the highlight of the episode, as viewers appreciated his support. Stating that the character has come a full circle, as it was Subok’s birth that made Zeba go back to Jami years ago, a user posted on X:
