As Pakeezah (Sehar Khan) and Faraz (Nameer Khan) move toward a life together, Aik Aur Pakeezah also explores the effects of their marriage on those connected to them. Faraz has been meeting and eating with his family, while Pakeezah keeps calling her mother, unable to say a single word.

The mother (Aliya-Nadia Afgan) seems unbothered, displaying a tone-deaf attitude towards Pakeezah in every conversation with her husband and sons. However, the way she mentions Pakeezah in every conversation indicates her yearning for her daughter. She also keeps attending the unknown calls in the hope of reconnecting with Pakeezah.

In a conversation with her son, Asghar (Davar Mahfooz), she mentions that Pakeezah would make warm rotis for her elder brother, Akbar (Umer Dar), but he no longer complains about the food. She also mentions Pakeezah’s love of cricket, telling Asghar that she has given away the cricket kit to the neighbours, since no one will be playing cricket in this house anymore.

Aliya proves to be the sane voice in the household, who keeps bringing up Pakeezah and the discrimination she faced from her family. While pushing for Akbar’s wedding, she states that men have the open choice to choose their partners, yet judgment begins when a woman does the same.

Pakeezah also understands that only her mother would accept her, so she decides to call her. A mother who had always nagged her about her unconventional lifestyle is the only one left with a soft corner for Pakeezah. The silence on the phone call indicates Pakeezah’s fear of losing her last hope. The fear that her mother will also turn her down once she learns it’s her.

The audience could feel the emotional turmoil these characters are going through and appreciated the performances. Appreciating Nadia Afgan’s portrayal of a heartbroken mother, a user posted on X:
