Jama Taqseem’s recent episode has made us wonder why we are unable to grant couples privacy and why we cannot accept them in loving relationships. After having a long day at work, Qais(Talha Chahtour) appreciates his wife for being a support through the challenges they face with his parents. When the couple shares a cute moment, they are met with criticism from Qais’s mother, who calls it inappropriate and blames Laila (Mawra Hoccane) for pushing her son into romance.
The blatant remark by Qais’s mother did not sit well with the audience, who criticised it as a common practice in our society. A user posted on X:
Marriage is damn scary what if your MIL turns out like this 😤😤
The way this woman thinks and talks just boils my blood, I can’t stand her 😒😒#jamataqseem pic.twitter.com/3sNjqjo1GS— 𓇢𓆸 (@atia_anishah) November 13, 2025

Qais’s mother finds it her right to talk ill of her daughter-in-law, and the constant display of bias does not sit well with the fans, one wrote:
#jamataqseem gets many things right but I hate how it normalizes routine humiliation of daughters in law. This blind age based notion of respect is one of the most toxic aspects of our culture. Ppl don’t have the right to insult you just b/c they are older. 1/n https://t.co/zqvoi9N6O5

Viewers also stated that if a husband was abusing his wife, it would not have been such an issue as showing affection is, one posted:
Such women would say “miyan biwi ka mamla hai” if this was a case of domestic violence but yeah god forbid a couple is loving & caring, miserable oldies. #jamataqseem https://t.co/jGdYB3f0DM

This scene is a true depiction of our society’s misplaced morals.
If husband wife show affection= Beyhayai
N if husband beats his wife such people will defend by saying miyan bv ka apas ka mamla hy. https://t.co/X9SQQZhzxV— Monna Naseer🌚💓☕ (@Zargoonaa) November 14, 2025
