If you are currently living in Punjab, or specifically in areas where rainfall has been the heaviest and are looking for ways how you can keep yourself and your family safe, we have all the necessary guidelines below.
1 Avoid driving during heavy rainfall because of slippery roads. But if there is an emergency, try to car pool with someone else or make sure you’re travelling slowly with the headlights on.
2 Stay indoors unless if you have to go out, then keep an umbrella with you and a solid pair of shoes that are good for walking.
3. Stay away from electrical appliances. Charge your power banks in case of power outrages.
4. Do not walk barefoot outside in the rain in case of getting an infection or injury by slipping.
5. Keep a close eye on weather updates and alerts for heavy rainfall warnings so you are aware of when to lock up the house.
6. Carry a first-aid kit with you in case of an emergency.
