The thriller legal drama ‘Qarz e Jaan’ finally ended with Nashwa (played by Yumna Zaidi) achieving her dream to become a criminal lawyer and doing what she had always dreamed of accomplishing: releasing herself from the shackles of her abusive family with Ammar (played by Nameer Khan) finally going to prison.
After the previous episodes that dissapointed fans when Nashwa married Ammar in secret and attempted to ‘fix’ him by sending him to a drug rehabilitation centre, we finally got to see the real Nashwa we fell in love with in the first place, fight for Beenish and Maheen to bring them the justice they had long been denied.
Several fans applauded Yumna’s fierce acting as Nashwa stood against her former mentor Burham (played by Usama Khan) in the court room and delivered an intense monologue that highlighted how Ammar refused to hold himself accountable and which is why he got away with all the crimes he committed.
“What a banger episode of QEJ! Nashwa was only spitting facts & the expressions on her face, pure brilliance Burhan had me clenching my fists, but credit where it’s due, the angst is angst-ing just right! Nashwa bibi chaa gayi, Goosebumps, start to finish,” a user wrote.
But truly what was the highlight was how Ammar decided to confess all of his crimes and expressed his guilt for the damage he had caused on others and especially over his own sisters. In a heart-shattering monologue, Ammar confesses that his parents had never taught him to face the consequences of his actions and which is why he never sought for forgiveness for when he raped Maheen or when he killed Asad.

Qarz E Jaan is the frightening tale of how murderers like Ammar get away with crime because of rich families and their power
Before he is taken to prison, Ammar sought for a chance to seek Nashwa’s forgiveness by letting his father Bakhtiar (played by Deepak Perwani) know that he won’t seek out his help in getting a reduced jail sentence or have his sentence revoked, and also asks him to forward the divorce papers so he could release Nashwa from the family’s control. Many users expressed satisfaction that this was the perfect revenge for Bakhtiar and the evil grandmother because they could no longer keep their control over Nashwa and her mother.
“Dear Team Qarz – e – Jaan . I m writing this smiling , with so much butterflies in my stomach , that the story didn’t just got played , but got LIVED too . No fancy shancy thing called that Ammar will be forgiven for what he did , justice for benish was served well,” another user wrote.
Qarz E Jaan started off with Nashwa rebelling against her conservative family by choosing to practice law, and dreamed of seeing her mother settled in a happy family where she wasn’t banished into the background or taunted for being a widow. In the end of the drama, despite the hurdles she faced, we saw her emerge as a confident and satisfied criminal lawyer who finally got to achieve the justice she had long hoped for, and see her abuser go to prison for his crimes, and also witness her mother settled in a peaceful home. If anything, this show was a love letter between Bisma and her daughter, and how their bond helped them survive all the trauma the Bakhtiar family threw on them
