Fazila Qazi says women have wrong perceptions about marriage due to social media

Senior actress Fazila Qazi was a guest on Samaa where she spoke avidly about how young women today are being fed blind illusions about marriage because of social media. She said this is why many become disappointed when they come in terms with the reality.

“Before getting married, we need to get out of the fantasy that social media has placed us in,” advised the actress. “When a girl is about to get married she assumes it’s going to mean comfort for the rest of her life. But no, marriage is a responsibility that you undertake either through love or through an arranged proposal.”

Speaking ahead, the ‘Meri Ban Jao’ actress stressed that the responsibility of marriage doesn’t solely rely on the wife, but also on the husband as well. She emphasized that parents need to remind their sons about their duties in a marriage.

“When you are about to get a couple married, you need to remind them that this is a joint responsibility. Social media has destroyed perceptions of marriage because the woman thinks she is a heroine, while the man think’s he is a hero.”

The actress has spoken a lot about the causes behind failed marriages. Previously, Fazila and her husband were guests on a Green Entertainment show where they addressed the causes behind why celebrity marriages were failing.

Speaking on this topic, the ‘Tere Bin’ actress responded that it was due to people becoming more career-oriented now that marriage and relationships have become a lesser priority for them.

“Everyone has become career-oriented nowadays, regardless of gender. Because of this couples refuse to sacrifice their needs for one another and which causes fights.”
