Veteran actor Firdous Jamal caught controversy after his unkind words about Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan began spreading on the internet. Four days ago, Jamal participated in a tv show where he was asked to give a few words about the actor Humayun Saeed, the senior actor disregarded his talent. He went on to say that getting the highest paycheck was not a sign of standard acting, because even prostitutes take money.
He also made a disparaging remark towards Mahira Khan, saying that she was too old now to play leading roles and must settle with mother or aunt roles in television dramas.
Firdous’s harsh comments about Humayun Saeed didn’t sit well with the internet and especially with a lot of actors who soon came out with statements supporting Humayun and lauded him for his work ethic.
Yasir Hussain is one of the recent stars to step up in support of his colleague. In a statement on Instagram, the ‘Javed Iqbal’ star criticised Firdous’s harsh comments towards Saeed.
“I love Humayun Saeed and he is the biggest film star of pakistan. In my opinion, even Firdous Jamaal sahab is a great actor. But in his age, calling him on talkshows and asking him these types of questions isn’t right. Instead, just get him to write his opinions down on stamp paper once and for all and spare us.”

Other actors had also stepped up to defend Humayun Saeed. Aijaz Aslam appreciated Humayun Saeed for remaining silent and refusing to go down on Firdous Jamal’s level was a testament to his character.
“Despite a controversial remark from a senior actor, Humayun Saeed remains an inspiration to millions. His silence in the face of criticism speaks volumes, reminding us all to reflect on our own achievements before passing judgement on others.”
Yasir Nawaz also stepped up to support the ‘Gentleman’ star by sharing a picture with him along with Nida Yasir, and writing in the caption ‘Best actor.
