Earlier today, the Lahore High Court acquitted prime suspect in #QandeelBaloch’s murder case after the family of the victim pardoned the killer, who was her brother, as the court ignored the earlier affidavit submitted by Qandeel’s parents.

Qandeel was strangled to death by her brother, Waseem – who was granted a life sentence on September 27, 2019. Ever since news of the acquittal became public, there has been an outrage on Twitter with social media users expressing shame and grief at the incident.

Many questioned how such a gross injustice could actually have been committed and facilitated by the State and Judiciary?

While many women also came out to rightfully question again: are women really safe in this country? Where’s #JusticeforQandeel?
